Imagine that your home library can now have other
uses in addition to the practical and aesthetic. It can be both a piece of furniture and a stove that heats the whole house. With the concern of environmental designers to reinterpret traditional objects in a modern style, craftsmen have brought back into trend artistic terracotta stoves which, by using fireplace-type fireplaces, give, in addition to the classic role of heating, also an important role in creating a romantic environment – an atmosphere specific to fireplaces. Tempini Romania brings in the cold season new brands that surprise both by their design and functionality.
Over the centuries artists and craftsmen have created entire collections of decorative pieces and objects with different shapes and patterns: geometric, architectural, natural or even human forms. Going back to the beginnings of history, more than 30,000 years ago – the Altamira cave in Spain, we can see the artistic preoccupations of humans (homo sapiens) in the Upper Palaeolithic era. On the walls of the cave, discovered by chance in 1868, are recorded moments of their lives, faces of wild animals, or other elements with symbolism for them. The primitive inscriptions here can be considered the beginnings of aesthetic, decorative concerns, continued and perfected over the millennia. The craftsmen’s skills have been honed over time, thanks to the evolution of man, technology and society.
The new collection we find at Tempini is the result of decorative techniques developed by Cerampiu designers, which are unlike any other
the decorative method of ceramics. Massimo Gelonese, one of Italy’s most creative artisans, combines graffiti and relief on tiles of various sizes. Decorations not only embellish objects, but also underline symbolic values and, at the same time, convey emotions.
Each terracotta stove can be customised with a choice of colours, glazes and decorations, allowing the creation of unique combinations designed to
natural and abstract subjects are combined in ceramic tiles to decorate the surfaces of the stoves with elements
numerous, and the worked objects, resistant over time. In such a long time, perhaps … in hundreds or thousands of years, who knows, it could perhaps represent an archaeological source of significance for future generations who will want to discover the way of life of the people who now write history on pottery.
